Carving Pumpkins 2009

This is another tradition we want to continue each year. Victor had never carved a pumpkin before with a pattern I think he did an awesome job!

Daddy hard at work on a Dora the Explorer Pumpkin for his girl. Since Victor decided to stay home this year from teaching him and Emma are getting so close. I must say I am a little jealous but know that Emma loves her time with daddy!

The completed Pumpkin......I think he did a GREAT job!

Emma helping me clean out the pumpkin. Neither Victor or Emma could stand getting the yucky inside stuff out....so I did it for them.

Emma with her pumpkin that Mamaw and Papaw let her pick out. Funny most kids want the biggest pumpkin....not Emma she wanted the smallest pumpkin they had. It was just her size.

Pumpkin Patch 2009

A couple of weeks ago Victor, Emma, my parents and I went to the pumpkin patch here in Branson. We would like to start taking Emma every year. She had a great time! Below are some pictures from the pumpkin patch.

Emma thought she wanted to go down but she ended up crawling back through the barn to Papaw.

Swinging on the pony swing. Papaw was pushing her...it was lots of fun!
Mommy and Emma in the corn field.

Emma painting her pumpkin. Victor was trying to get her to look at him and she was being onery but it turned out pretty cute.

A few more pictures...

Here are some more pictures:

Emma playing telephone in the hotel....no worried we unhooked it first.

St. Louis has this really cool place called City Garden.
It is in downton St. Louis and there are all these fountains and stuff for kids to play in.
We were not dressed to swim but we both jumped in anyways.
We went to the St. Louis zoo and had a great time!

Summer Fun

Well the Sheets Family Summer is coming to a close. We have had a great summer. Lots of trips to relatives house, White Water, Silver Dollary City and even went on a mini vacation to St. Louis. It has been so busy that the other day I realized I had not posted on the blog at ALL. Whew!

So to make up for it I am going to post pictures of all the different things we did this summer.

Summer in review.....

We got a kitten named KiKi and Emma loves to carry her around. KiKi loves to play with Emma also.

Emma and Mommy at 4th of July.

Emma playing with the fireworks.

Emma playing in KiKi's tunnel.

Emma playing with her Dora tube. She loves taking the tube to White Water and laying in the lazy river.

Prayer Request

I have some pics to add but hopefully will have some time in the next few days to add them to the blog. However, this time I am asking for your prayer. Wednesday morning I am having surgery to have my gall bladder removed. I went in to the ER a week ago Sunday night having some pains in my upper abdomen and they discovered I have multipe gall stones and a non-functioning gall bladder. So they scheduled it for tomorrow morning at 8 am.

The thing I am most scared of is the anesthia as I have never had any surgery. The plan is to do the surgery laproscopic which will be really good as it is an outpatient surgery and hardly any time to recover and get back to normal routine. However, if the gall stones are to big or the gall bladder to mushy then they will have to do the old traditional style surgery which would mean an overnight stay and a longer recovery time.

While I am asking for prayer I wanted to also ask for prayer for my mom. She isn't feeling very well and has been running a fever and feeling very chilled. She is such a fighter and is a great source of strength for me.

Thanks for your prayers! We serve a wonderful God who is in control of all situtations and has a plan greater than we could imagine.

Husband/Dad of the Year

This blog is usually for reserved for listing Emma's accomplishments and milestones. However, today I want to take a moment and say a big thank you to my dear husband, Victor.

Victor, I don't think I tell you how amazing you are and what you mean to our family. Not only do you put up with me, a hormonal wife (no if you are wondering I am not pregnant just naturally hormonal, and ultra sensitive). But you are also a wonderful father to Emma...so involved in her life and helping raise her. So for you my dear here is my top 10 reasons I love you this past week!

1) You climbed on the roof and cleaned out all the gutters.

2) You pull our daughter around in a buggy while I just ride my bike and complain that my legs hurt.

3) You get up with Emma when she wakes up at 6 am in so your wife can have a day to sleep in a little.

4) You drive to Bolivar almost every weekend and are always ready to go if I want to go during the week, and never think twice.

5) You deal with all of my OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) tendencies. I have so many things that I think should be done a certain way and want to organize them and not only do you deal with them but you actually allow me to "train you" to put your stuff that way also.

6) You cooked twice this past weekend for 9 people out in the hot sun.

7) You have been devoted to giving me time every morning to take a shower, and get ready in peace while you entertain Emma. Thank you I really do appreciate that every morning it starts my day off perfect.

8) You have put our daughter to bed for almost 2 years now....without hesitation and without her fighting you. :)

9) You took over the finances about 7 months ago (when it was "stressing me out"), have not looked back and have us in a better place then I ever could have gotten us. Thank you for being so disciplined and making us think more about the future.

10) You love me, something that not just anyone can do. You accept me for who I am in, even the little things that I know bug you. (I know that is more than 1)

Thank you for loving me and marrying me.
You girl,
Pearl

Emma & Mommy Reading

One of our favorite times...reading together. Emma loves to read books, and loves being read to. I do have to admit I get tired of the same books over and over again...but we have a secret....sometimes we hide the books for a few days.

Here are a few pictures of Emma and I reading together.

Emma Playing T-Ball

We bought Emma one of those little t-ball sets. She absolutely loves it. No matter how much mommy works with her though she refuses to hit it the right way. I guess it will come in time.

I am not sure this child is related to me....in this next picture she is getting the dirt off the ball. Sigh....

Emma's Way of Hitting the ball....much like a pool player hits with a cue.

Mommy's way of trying to coach her....after we got done she said "no more help mommy."

Happy Birthday Mamaw!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is my mom's birthday so these pics are for you! Hope you have a wonderful day! We love you and will see you soon!

P.S. Emma is working on saying happy birthday but right now all she says is "happy day!" It is still really cute!

I love this one below!

Ready for Summer

We bought Emma a couple of bathing suits for Summer and tried them on tonight. I was going to get a 2 piece like last year so that it would be easier to get on and off to change littler swimmers and go to the bathroom if we are poty training. However, I don't think Emma is going to like a 2 piece this year. She liked the one piece but the 2 piece she just kept pulling at and yanking down. We also got her a little white terry cloth swimsuit cover....it looks kind of like mine. So we can match when we go to White Water and the pool.

We are excited for summer. We got season passes for White Water (WW) and Silver Dollar City (SDC) and the Rec Plex (local pool) has Toddler time ever Tuesday and Thursday so it is only kids under 5. We plan to take her to the pool, WW and SDC quite a bit.

Mommy's Sunshine!

Mommy's Sunshine
Look at that smile, she is my sunshine because she brightens my days!

Emma is getting so big these days! She says so many words and phrases it is hard to even estimate how many words she has in her vocabulary. A few of my favorites are:
"Mommy's Sunshine"
"Daddy's Strawberry"
"Mamaw's Angel"
"Papaw's Peanut" (she sometimes adds butter to the end of that and it cracks us up)
"Try again, Emma"
"Paco, Paco"----Popsicle (this one took us a while to realize what she was saying)
"already to go" (she says each member of the family "Daddy already to go? Mommmy already to go? Emma's already to go!")
"Snuggle with daddy" (daddy's favorite)
There are tons of other things and phrases she says. When she isn't saying things we understand she is running around the house just jabbering away. I love the sound of her voice in the house and can't imagine what life was like before.
I had a great Mother's Day. Victor started my morning off with pancakes and we went to visit my mom. It was just a fun, relaxing day. Happy Mother's Day to all you mom's out there!

Emma Playing With Bubbles

Emma loves playing outside with bubbles (of course she loves anything outside). So I decided to get her one of those bubble gun things (bubble fans-not sure the exact name). We played with on Saturday and she loved it.

"Daddy's Shoes"

Emma is getting so big but she thinks she is way bigger than she really is, don't we all.

She loves putting on mommy and daddy's shoes.

Here are a couple of pictures of Emma in daddy's flip flops trying to walk through the mess of books and papers she had put in the floor.

She keeps mommy very busy!

Anytime she falls she says "try again". :) It is the cutest thing. She says it all the time....if she is trying really hard to do something or if she gets frustrated with herself about something. She says try again Emma. :) I love it...it makes me grin every time.

My mom says I used to talk to myself like that always trying to talk myself through things. When she gets hurt she says "it's ok Emma it's ok." I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Emma and Her New Swing

Well, Emma loves to swing we have known it for about a month. She LOVES it! We decided to go get her a swing at wal-mart. She was impatient from the moment we put it in the cart. :) When Victor got it hung from the tree on Saturday evening she wanted to swing for over 45 minutes. She is such an outside girl. We are already planning lots of fun things to do this summer. I know she is going to wear us out wanting to be outside but I plan to enjoy every minute of time with her and Victor. Below are some pics of Emma and her new swing:

Emma waiting patiently cheering daddy on to "get the swing up." :)

I didn't put a picture on here but she swang so much daddy had to pull a lawn chair over we got tired of pushing her and standing. :)

Easter Weekend.....

It has been over 3 months since my last post...I have been so busy it seems like. I have still been taking pictures but my laptop is dead so all my username's and passwords that were stored kept me from being able to blog very quickly. Anyway, I have finally moved it all over to my new laptop and am ready to get back in the swing of blogging aboout Emma.

Things are about the same around here....Victor and I are still teaching and ready for Summer break. Emma is still going to see Ms. Vickie each day. We made an offer on a house that we should know something about by Thursday. So say a little prayer for us. It is a wonderful house and we are both very excited but know that if it is meant to happen it will happen.

Below are some pictures of Emma playing at Easter. We went to my mom's house on Saturday and Victor's mom on Sunday.

Emma Naps....

Saturday Emma woke up late in the morning and so her schedule was REALLY off, so off she didn't get a nap in all day. So we were tryig to keep her up until at least 7 so she wouldn't get up super early on Sunday. Well, we were watching Elmo about 7 and she feel asleep on daddy. She was so out she didn't even wake up as Victor carried her back to her room.

Emma and her Elmo Purse

A while back Mamaw (my mom) got Emma an Elmo purse...Emma found it again today in her toy box and decided to put her cell phone and other items in there and prance around. She also went and got the bath and body works bag that we have been letting her play with. She looked awful cute and since I have "nothing" to do these days I decided to snap some pictures.

I am pretty sure in this one she is asking daddy for money. ;)

"Let's see I've got my cell phone, make-up, yep I'm ready to go."

Emma-The Teacher

At Mrs. Vickie's House (daycare) she has an alphabet strip up on the wall and Emma loves it when we sing the ABC's to go and point to the letters, but it is too high for her to reach. So we decided to get Emma one and put it on our wall so Emma could play with it everyday and point as much as she wanted. She absolutely loved it and I captured a few pictures of her pointing while I sang the ABCs.
