Emma is Sleeping Through the Night
A few people had e-mail me to see how Emma was doing sleeping through the night so I thought I would give you a little update.
With the help of my wonderful eMINTS team and Victor (thanks Cindy, Sember and Jan) I was able to let Emma cry enough that she now sleeps through the night. She still wakes up every now and then once during the night but she just fusses for a minute and then goes back to sleep on her own.
It has been amazing sleeping through the night, now that we have her sleeping through the night we feel safe to get ready to think about having her a baby brother or sister. :)

Jump & Spin Zebra
Tomorrow is Emma's 1st Birthday Party but we decided to let her open our gift tonight. Partly so we didn't have to take it all the way to Bolivar and back again and partly becaue I couldn't wait another minute. She was so excited to get it out of the box daddy couldn't get it ready fast enough for her.

Victor was not very excited when he realized the zebra had to be assembled.
He hates putting toys together.....get used to it daddy!

Emma in the Cabinets
Emma has now discovered the cabinets in the kitchen. Mommy tells her "no-no" to all the cabinets except the one with tupperware and I let her have at that one. Here are a few pictures of her learning how to take things out. Since these pictures she now has also learned how to take things in and out of the dresser drawers.

Trying to Get Some Sleep
I feel like such a mean mom....but tonight Victor and I have decided that Emma has to learn how to put herself to sleep. We put her to bed like normal rocking and all, I know she is almost a year old and she still gets rocked to sleep. But when she wakes up her 6-7 times at night we are not going back in to rock her back to sleep. I hate the thought of her letting her cry but the doctor and all of the books tell us that she needs to learn to go back to sleep on her own.
So say a prayer for me as the next few nights will be hard.

Emma loves Reading
As of right now Emma loves to read. I know what you are all thinking....but I am serious. Last week one day she sat for 20 minutes (not kidding) and went from book to book in the floor. She would pick them up, open them, flip through the pages, and jabber. If a toy and a book are sitting in the floor she will pick up the toy before the book. Victor and I love it of course being two teachers and us both loving to read so much.
Anyway, so below are some pictures of Emma reading that I snapped the other day.

Prayer Request
Tomorrow morning (Monday) Emma is going to have tubes put in her ear. I know that it is a normal procedure and they do it all the time. That doesn't make it any less scary for me and Victor. Emma probably won't even know anything happened as they will put her to sleep while Victor is still in the room and she won't wake up until we are both in there. She is just so little and I worry (of course I do) of all the things that could go wrong.
I am reminded of a verse I memorized while I was in college.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything with prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
That verse has come back to me many times as I feel myself start to worry, probably one of the best verse I ever memorized since I am a worrier.
So I am asking for your prayer for Emma, the doctors and of course Victor and I that we can be calm for Emma.
