Emma's Christmas

Well, as you can imagine Emma had a great Christmas. First we traveled to Bolivar on Christmas Eve and went to the Bumgarner family Christmas. Emma had quite a good time running around and dancing, she proved to not be shy at all. :)

We spent Christmas night with my mom & dad and woke up and had Christmas with them. Then we traveled that evening to Victor's mom & dad's house (Willow Springs) and had Christmas with them and stayed the night there. We drove home Friday evening and even though we had a great time we were glad to be back in our own beds. Emma slept until 11:00 the next 3 mornings, she had a lot of catching up to do.

Emma got lots of Elmo toys, which is her favorite thing right now...as long as Elmo isn't a stuffed animal she loves it. She also got some musical toys, stacking magnetic bugs, an Elmo tricycle that we can push her on outside and a rider (4 wheel bike) to ride in the house (sorry if I missed something...she got lots of stuff). She has already played with all of the things that she got. She goes from one to the other just loving every minute of it.
Below are some pictures of her opening presents at the three places we went for Christmas.

Emma & Mommy Baking Cookies

It has been a while since I posted to the blog so I have to give some updates on some funny things that have happened.

About 2 weeks ago I was going to bake some chocolate chip cookies and as I was preparing them I gave Emma some cookie dough...she absolutely loved it. In fact she loved it so much that she got extremely mad when I put the cookie dough in the oven. She went over to the oven and looking in the glass and then starting hitting the window and crying. She threw quite the tantrum. Victor said it was the Irish (red hair) in her coming out either way she was not very happy.

As you can imagine after the cookies were done and she got to eat one she liked them cooked also. But I did manage to capture it with some pictures.

Family Christmas Pictures

Last year we ordered Christmas Card Pictures to send out and we really liked it. We didn't have to sign them or anything (not trying to be impersonal just don't have the time with Emma). I use to send out cards and write little notes in them but this year we decided to send out Christmas Cards with our picture on it again. It was so easy last year and a lot less time consuming. I have a feeling this year I will have even less time to send them out. :)

Below is a picture of our Christmas card courtesy of Branson Photo and also pictures from Emma's Christmas Pictures. Branson Photo also took all of the pictures. They do such a great job. (http://www.bransonphoto.com/)
It is getting harder and harder to have Emma's pictures taken. As you can see in one of the pictures she is holding a cash register. :) The only way she would sit in the sled is if we gave her something to play with and a couple of times she wanted to hold it up high. It use to be so easy to take pictures of Emma. We put her where we wanted and she just sit there. :) Those days are gone at least for now.

If you would like to see all of the pictures that we had taken by Branson Photo visit the following website. It will ask you for a password and the password is emma

Emma Discovers the Christmas Tree

Well, I put up our Christmas tree this last weekend and it has been interesting to watch Emma. I wish I could hear her thoughts I can just see the wheels turning inside of her little-correction big head. (Her head size is still in the 97th percentile, daddy and I say it is for the big brain).

The first day Emma didn't give the tree too much attention to my surprise. She barely tried to touch it and went about playing. Tonight she seemed less scared of the big glimmer tree and decided to venture closer for longer periods.

Emma found one of the ornaments that either Jill (my best friend) or my mom got her last year. Sorry girls I can't remember who got the duck ornament for her. Anyway, she found it in the tree (it was the only one I put low enough for her to grab) and she started taking it in and out of the tree.

Then she went and got some toys and decided to put some of her own toys in the tree. I could just tell she doesn't see any difference between the toy duck in the Christmas tree as opposed to her blocks, and elmo figurine in the Christmas tree.

She was also very curious about the silver beads that lays on every branch of the tree. In one picture below you will see she actually grabbed it and pulled.

I think before Christmas comes and goes the tree WILL come down. :) It will be funny and we will all laugh (after making sure she is okay) and then set it back up. I love watching her learn and grow and I suppose part of that is making messes.

Turkey Picture

Emma made this turkey picture with her foot. Isn't it cute? :)

Elmo, Apples and Extra Wide Shoes

The three important things around our household these days.

Emma's new favorite words are Elmo and Apple. :) Which I must say both sound very cute! We have been looking for shoes for Emma's Christmas pictures, but we have one problem she has very wide feet. Therefore we have been driving all over looking for 41/2 XW shoes. :) We finally found a pair today at Striderite in Tanger Outlet.

Emma is having her Christmas pictures taken on Wednesday and we have two dresses. We are trying to figure out which one to have her wear in the picture...let me know what you think. Who knows we might have to use both.

Emma has Raccoon Eyes

Tonight at dinner Emma ate spaghetti and decided to rub her eyes like she was tired....which resulted in these absolutely adorable pictures below. She was so messy we had to take her straight to the bathtub when we got done.

Emma is a Monkey...

Well we found Emma's costume for Halloween. She is going to be a monkey holding a banana. We bought it on Friday and she tried it on when we got home. She was pretty cute!

She will be wearing it to my cousin's Annual Halloween party.....and we will see if she goes trick or treating. :)

Emma Visits the Pumpkin Patch

Emma spent the night with Memaw this weekend and they went to the pumpkin patch. I told Wilma she could take her if she took pictures for me to post on the blog. Looks like she had a great time.
Next post will probably be the her Halloween costume.....we haven't decided yet what Emma is going to be. We are deciding between a cow, a bee, or a banana (daddy would be the gorilla) :) . We are taking suggestions we are running out of time. :)
Last year I spent all that time getting her ready and she didn't even make it to 7:00, she fell asleep in her cosutume.

Enjoy the pics from the pumpkin patch and have a great week!

Emma at Mamaw's House

On Sunday this week we went to my mom and dad's house. Emma had a good time playing with her cousin and riding the horse outside.
